COURAGE THROUGH FAITH

By Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan

Fear is a universal human experience. It whispers lies into our hearts, telling us that we’re all alone, that the challenges are bigger than us, and that we’ll fail. The only weapon against fear is faith. Faith doesn’t mean you’ll never feel fear; it means you don’t have to let fear control you.

Courage, my friends, is not the absence of fear—it’s the presence of faith. Faith in a God who is always with you. Faith in His promises that He will never leave you, never forsake you, as the Holy Scriptures remind us: “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God, he himself will go before you, in your midst. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

When God tells us to be strong and courageous, He’s not asking us to muster up strength from within ourselves. He knows we’re human. He knows our limits. He’s saying, “I will be your courage. I will be your strength. Lean on Me.” Courage isn’t something we create; it’s something we receive. It’s the fruit of faith, a gift from Almighty God.

Think about this: When God goes before you, He’s already cleared the way. When He’s in your midst, you’re surrounded by His presence. And when He promises never to leave or forsake you, it means that no matter what you face, He is holding your hand, walking with you through the fire, through the storm, through the darkest valleys.

This truth changes everything. When we feel overwhelmed by life’s battles—whether it’s a health crisis, a broken relationship, financial struggles, or a spiritual dry season—we can stand firm, knowing that God has already gone ahead of us. He sees the end from the beginning, and He prepares the way.

So, let’s choose faith over fear today. Let’s trust the God who has promised to always be by our side. He’s right there with you—closer than the air you breathe, stronger than any storm you face, more faithful than the sunrise each morning. Stand tall, be courageous, for the Lord your God is your strength, your shield, and your ever-present help. Take His hand, step forward in faith, and watch Him do what only He can do.
