TRUSTING GOD’S STORY

By Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan

When we are learning to read as children, we quickly discover that the opening chapters of a novel are often a little confusing. New characters would pop up, strange events would unfold, and nothing seemed to make much sense. But we learned something important: to keep reading. Because we knew, deep down, that a good author would eventually weave all those scattered pieces into a beautiful, coherent story.

Our lives of faith are much the same. Sometimes, we encounter people and events that leave us puzzled. Things happen that seem counterproductive to our faith and the faith of those around us. We face challenges that make us question the direction our story is heading. But keep walking in faith. Trust the Divine Author.

In Romans 8:28, we are reminded, ” We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” Notice that it doesn’t say some things or a few things. It says all things. That means every character in your life, every event, every triumph, and every trial is part of God’s grand narrative for you.

Maybe today, you’re in a chapter of your life that feels chaotic or painful. You might be wondering how any good can come from your current circumstances. But God is still writing your story. He is not finished with you yet. Every character, every plot twist, every high and low is part of a divine masterpiece.

Just like those novels we read as children, the early chapters of our lives might not always make sense. We may face moments of confusion, sorrow, or doubt. But if we keep reading, if we keep walking in faith, we will see how God brings everything into proper focus.

So, what do we do in the meantime? We keep the faith. We trust that our Heavenly Author knows what He’s doing. We stay patient and hopeful, believing that He is weaving a beautiful narrative with our lives, one that will bring Him glory and us ultimate joy.
